Terms of Service
Last Updated: September 15, 2026
1. The Agreement
By creating an account, you accept these Terms and confirm you have read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data. If you only visit public pages, the sections that concern visitors apply to you. If you do not accept these Terms, please do not use Work Republic.
In these Terms:
- Content means anything you add to Work Republic: text, résumés, notes, media, job roles and so on.
- Public content means content you publish or share by link.
- Handle means the name in your public address, such as wrep.io/yourname.
- Organization means a business space in Work Republic, and business user anyone acting in one.
- Output means content generated by our AI features.
2. What Work Republic Is — and Is Not
Work Republic is software for presenting your professional life: you can build and publish résumés, portfolios and cover letters, tailor applications, export PDFs, assess your skills, and let visitors ask an AI assistant about your published profile. Organizations can create and publish job roles.
- We are not an employment agency, recruiter or employer. We do not act for candidates or organizations, and we are not party to any hiring process or employment relationship.
- No guaranteed outcomes. We cannot promise interviews, offers or any career result. Those depend on you and on the decisions of others.
- The product evolves. Some features may be labelled as early access or beta. They may change more often and work less reliably than the rest of the service.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you act for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to do so and to accept these Terms on its behalf; in that case “you” also means the organization.
4. Your Account
- Give accurate information when you register and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity in your account unless it results from a failure on our side. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
- One personal account per person. Usage limits exist so AI resources are shared fairly. Do not create additional accounts, including with email aliases such as name+1@example.com, to get more usage or to get around a suspension.
- Your account is personal and cannot be sold or transferred. Organizations exist separately and can have several members.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. What happens to your data is explained in section 13 of the Privacy Policy.
5. Your Content
You own it
You keep all rights in your content. To run the service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process and adapt your content, including with AI features and by creating embeddings, and to display and distribute your public content, including on your public pages, in talent search, in the feed, through the AI assistant on your profile, in link previews and to search engines. We use this licence only to operate, secure and improve Work Republic, never to sell your content or to train AI models.
The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep under the Privacy Policy and copies already made by others while the content was public, which we do not control.
You are responsible for it
You confirm that you have the rights to what you upload, that it is true to the best of your knowledge, and that sharing information about other people, such as references or collaborators, is lawful. Do not present qualifications, employers, projects or results you do not have.
Publishing
Public content can be seen, copied and indexed by anyone. Unpublishing removes it from our pages, but not copies others have already made. Before publishing, check what your public pages and your AI assistant will show (section 7 of the Privacy Policy).
Feedback
If you send us suggestions or ratings, we may use them to improve Work Republic without obligation to you.
6. AI Features
- Output can be wrong. AI can produce inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or invented information. Review every piece of output before you publish it, export it or send it to anyone. Once you use it, it is your content and your responsibility.
- Assessments are estimates. Scores, skill levels, exam results and integrity verdicts are automated indications, not certifications. Do not present them as verified qualifications. We do not guarantee their accuracy, and we do not use them to make decisions about you.
- Your public assistant speaks from your content. It answers visitors from your published profile and your workspace notes (Privacy Policy, section 7). It can make mistakes, and its answers are not statements verified by you or by us. Visitors are told they are talking to an AI.
- Rights in output. As far as we are concerned, you may use output you generate freely. Similar output may be generated for others, and we cannot guarantee output is free of third-party rights.
- AI features are provided by third parties and may change. We may limit or block requests to prevent abuse or excessive cost.
7. Your Handle
Your handle is yours
When you claim a handle, it is yours for as long as your account exists. We do not sell handles, and we do not reassign them because someone asks. You can change your handle once every 30 days; your old handle then redirects to your new one and is never given to anyone else. Some words are reserved and cannot be claimed.
Inactivity is never a reason to take it
A profile nobody has opened in years may still be linked from a résumé in someone’s inbox. We will not reclaim a handle because you stopped using it.
The only grounds for reclaiming a handle
We may reclaim a handle only if:
- the holder of a registered trademark identical or confusingly similar to the handle establishes their right to it;
- the handle presents your account as a real person or organization you are not (impersonation);
- the handle was obtained by exploiting a defect in our systems, such as bypassing the checks on which handles can be registered; or
- the handle deliberately imitates another account’s handle using visually confusable characters.
No other circumstance allows us to reclaim a handle.
If you acted in good faith (grounds 1 and 2)
- We notify you first, stating the ground and the facts we rely on.
- You have 14 days to respond before anything changes, and we will consider what you send.
- You choose your new handle.
- Your old address redirects to your new one for at least six months, so résumés and applications already sent keep working.
- If your old address is still in circulation, for example in an open application or a published paper, tell us and we will extend the redirect. We record every extension.
- Nobody, including the claimant, can take the handle while the redirect is active.
- When the redirect ends, it stops completely. If someone later takes the handle, your old address will not forward to them.
If the handle was never legitimately yours (grounds 3 and 4)
We may reclaim it immediately and without a redirect, because a redirect would continue the harm. You can still contest the decision.
Deleted accounts and our record
If your account is deleted, your handle stays permanently reserved: it shows nothing and is never given to anyone else. We keep a record of every handle we reclaim — the ground, when you were notified, the outcome of anything you raised and any extension granted — and you can ask for the record relating to you.
8. Organizations and Job Roles
If you use Work Republic for an organization, you also agree that:
- You have authority to act for the organization, and the information about it is accurate. Do not create an organization for a business you do not represent.
- Every role you publish is a real, open position, described truthfully. No fake vacancies, fees charged to candidates, or collection of candidates’ data under false pretences.
- You comply with employment, equal-treatment, anti-discrimination and data protection laws. Requirements and constraints, including location, language, availability and work authorization, must be genuinely necessary for the job and lawful where it is performed. Never use them, or anything else, as a proxy for age, sex, ethnic origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation or any other protected characteristic.
- AI suggestions for roles are proposals. You are responsible for reviewing them and for everything a role says once published.
- Hiring decisions are made by people in your organization, not by Work Republic. If a role links to your own application page, you are responsible for that page and the personal data it collects.
- Organizations and their roles belong to the organization, not to the individual member who created them.
If we add features that give organizations access to candidates’ personal data, additional terms, including a data processing agreement, will apply before you can use them.
9. Plans, Usage Limits and Payments
Plans and limits
- Work Republic offers a free plan and paid plans. Current prices and what each plan includes are shown on our pricing page and at checkout.
- AI usage is measured in tokens, with daily, weekly and monthly allowances that reset at fixed times in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), not on your billing date. Unused allowance does not roll over. Estimates such as “messages” are approximate.
- Plans also limit content, such as the number of résumés, posts, applications per month and storage. On the free plan, an application can only be deleted seven days after it was created.
- Questions visitors ask the AI assistant on your public profile count towards your AI allowance. When your allowance runs out, AI features pause until it resets, or until you upgrade or buy an AI Pack.
- An AI Pack is a one-time purchase of additional tokens, used after your plan’s allowance is exhausted. AI Pack tokens do not expire while your account exists.
Payments
- Paid plans and AI Packs are sold through Polar, which acts as merchant of record: Polar processes your payment, charges any applicable taxes such as VAT, and issues invoices. Polar’s terms apply to the payment itself.
- Prices are shown in US dollars. The final price, including taxes, is shown before you pay.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly, quarterly or yearly) until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Settings; you keep paid features until the end of the period you have paid for, and are not charged again.
- When a paid plan ends, your content is kept and published content stays online, but you cannot create more than the free plan allows.
- If a payment fails, you may keep paid features for a short grace period while you update your payment method.
- We may change prices. We will tell you at least 30 days before a change affects your subscription, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
Right of withdrawal and refunds
- Consumers in the EU, EEA or UK may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason, by contacting us or Polar.
- Subscriptions: because the service starts immediately at your request, if you withdraw from a subscription within 14 days you are refunded the amount paid minus a proportional amount for the part of the period already provided.
- AI Packs: if you withdraw within 14 days, we refund the unused portion of the pack.
- After the withdrawal period, payments are not refunded for partial periods or unused tokens, except where the law requires it or where the service did not work as described.
- When a subscription payment is refunded in full, the paid features it covered end immediately. When an AI Pack is refunded, the refunded share of its tokens is removed, as far as they have not been used.
- The right of withdrawal does not apply to purchases made for an organization or other business purposes.
10. Acceptable Use
Work Republic is for presenting professional experience and for legitimate recruitment. You must not:
- publish content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit or deceptive, or that infringes others’ rights;
- impersonate a person or organization, or invent credentials, employers or experience;
- publish other people’s personal data without a lawful basis;
- scrape, crawl or bulk-download profiles, search results or other content, or use Work Republic to build marketing or contact lists;
- send spam or unsolicited commercial messages to people you found through Work Republic;
- try to make an AI assistant reveal information it should not, or otherwise manipulate AI features into acting against their purpose;
- use AI features mainly for purposes unrelated to careers, recruitment or your professional presence;
- get around usage limits, rate limits, bot protection or security measures, including by creating multiple accounts;
- probe, attack or disrupt our systems, upload malware, or reverse-engineer the service except where the law allows it;
- use Work Republic in violation of any law, including employment, anti-discrimination and data protection law.
If you find a security vulnerability, please report it to support@workrepublic.io and give us reasonable time to fix it before disclosing it.
11. Reporting Illegal Content
Anyone can report content on Work Republic that they believe is illegal or breaks these Terms by emailing support@workrepublic.io, which is also our point of contact for authorities and users under the EU Digital Services Act. Please include:
- the address (URL) of the content;
- why you believe it is illegal or breaks these Terms;
- your name and email address; and
- a statement that your report is accurate and made in good faith.
We review reports promptly and objectively and tell you what we decided. If we remove or restrict your content or account, we tell you why, unless the law or an urgent risk prevents it. You can ask us to review that decision by replying within six months; a different person will look at it. You may also use a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body or go to court.
12. Our Intellectual Property
Work Republic, including its software, design, templates, skills catalogue, scoring methods and brand, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service under these Terms. You may use, share and print the documents you export, such as résumé and cover letter PDFs, for any lawful purpose, but you may not resell our templates as templates.
13. Third-Party Services
Work Republic relies on third parties, such as hosting, AI, payment, sign-in and video providers, and may contain links to other websites, including organizations’ own application pages. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for services we do not operate.
14. Suspension and Termination
- You can stop using Work Republic and delete your account at any time.
- We may remove content, or suspend or close an account, if it breaches these Terms or the law, if required by an authority, or if it poses a real risk to other people, to Work Republic or to our systems. Our response will be proportionate to the problem.
- We will tell you the reason and give you a chance to respond first, unless the law prevents it or the situation is urgent, such as a security threat or serious illegal content. You can ask us to review the decision as described in section 11.
- If we close your account without a breach on your part, we refund the unused part of any prepaid period and, unless the law prevents it, give you reasonable time to export your content.
- If your account is closed for a serious breach, do not create a new one without our permission.
15. Availability and Changes to the Service
We work to keep Work Republic available, but maintenance, provider outages and incidents can interrupt it, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
We may improve, change or retire features. If a change materially reduces a paid feature you rely on, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel and receive a refund of the unused part of your prepaid period. If we shut Work Republic down, we will give at least 60 days’ notice so you can export your content.
16. Warranties
We provide Work Republic with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, and we make no other promises about it, including that it will be error-free or that AI output will be accurate. If you are a consumer, you keep your statutory rights if digital content or services we supply do not conform to the contract; these Terms do not affect them.
17. Liability
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
- Otherwise, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for indirect losses such as lost profits, lost opportunities or reputational harm, including decisions third parties make based on your content or on AI output.
- Subject to the first point, our total liability to you for all claims relating to Work Republic is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and 100 euros.
18. Responsibility for Claims
If you use Work Republic for business purposes, you will indemnify us against third-party claims, and reasonable related costs, arising from your content, your job roles, your hiring practices or your breach of these Terms or the law. If you are a consumer, you are responsible for such claims only to the extent the law provides.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Work Republic, to the law or to how we operate. For material changes, we will notify you by email or in the product at least 30 days before they take effect, unless a change is required sooner by law or to address a security risk. If you do not agree, you can delete your account or cancel your subscription before the change takes effect; if you have prepaid, we refund the unused part. If you keep using Work Republic after that date, the new Terms apply.
20. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring proceedings in the courts of that country or of Spain; we can only bring proceedings against you in the courts of the country where you live. If you use Work Republic for business purposes, the courts of Barcelona, Spain have exclusive jurisdiction.
Before going to court, please contact us: most problems can be solved quickly by talking.
21. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any terms shown when you buy a plan, are the entire agreement between you and us about Work Republic. If a provision is found invalid, the rest remains in effect. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we have not waived it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours to a successor that continues the service, and will tell you if we do. The English version of these Terms is the binding version.
